One of my reading goals in 2017 is to read at least 36 physical books that I’ve owned since before 2017. I also have a goal of reading at least 50% of whatever I add to my TBR (through review books, hauls, etc.). I’ve been pretty successful with the first goal, but not so much with the latter. To help with these goals, I’ve been on an unofficial book buying ban. So far this year, I’ve only purchased two ebooks and I’ve already read one!
Of course that all changed this week. BookOutlet had a crazy good sale and I just could not pass it up. I found so many books that I’ve been wanting that this unofficial book buying ban quickly became an unofficial buy all the books I can haul!
So how many books did I end up buying? FOURTEEN! Granted I saved almost $200, but my goals are pretty shot at this point. I’m excited for them to arrive and I’m hoping I can get through most of them before I break down and buy even more books. I have no space on my shelves so I can’t break my ban like this again!

The Fixer by Jennifer Lynn Barnes – I devoured her Naturals series and have seen really good things about this series as well. How could I not pick up a copy?
The Wishsong of Shannara by Terry Brooks – I’ve read the first in this series and have seen the show (which picks up with book two). I’m doing a buddy read of the series and this was the one installment I didn’t already own!
Thousand Words by Jennifer Brown – I’ve read other books by Jennifer Brown and loved them. I’ve almost picked this one up numerous times and decided there was no time like the present.
The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson – I’ve read almost everything else that Morgan Matson has written and absolutely love the cover. Of course I’m gonna snag a copy!
Seraphina by Rachel Hartman – I’ve owned the sequel to this since before it was released, (thank you Netgalley!) but have had a hard time getting a copy of the first. I finally fixed that issue and can’t wait to read about DRAGONS!
Lock & Mori by Heather W. Petty – I’m not sure where I was first introduced to this book, but I really want to read it so I’m happy I was able to snag a copy!
Flesh & Bone by Jonathan Maberry – I actually just finished re-reading the first in this series so I could FINALLY dive into the sequel. I love the first so much that I really think it’s best to have the third on hand if I decide to binge it. lol
The Forbidden Wish by Jessica Khoury – I’ve only read one other book by this author, but really enjoyed it. I’ve been interested in trying out more retellings lately and Aladdin is my favorite Disney movie. I have to give this one a try!
Every Breath by Ellie Marney – Like Lock & Mori, I’m not quite sure where I first came across this book. I’ve been seeing it pop up quite a bit lately with rave reviews so I decided why not? lol
Exit, Pursued by a Bear by E.K. Johnston – As a former theater kid, I am ashamed to admit I did not know that this title came from a Shakespeare play. The topic is one that also interests me (yes I used to watch 16 & Pregnant) Once I learned about the title, in conjunction with the topic, I’ve been wanting to read it eversince it was released!
Long Way Down by Ewan McGregor & Charley Boorman – I originally
saw the TV series for their first trip around the world ages ago with my dad. I really enjoyed it, so when I saw there was one down through Africa, I had to watch it as well. After enjoying both specials, I found out there were books as well! I’ve already read the first one so I’m pretty excited to finally get my hands on this one.
Armada by Ernest Cline – Ready Player One is one of the few books that I’ve read more than once within a year. While I’ve heard mixed reviews about this one, I really want to give it a shot.
The Sacred Lies of Minnow Bly by Stephanie Oakes – I’ve been curious about this book ever since it was released. I don’t think I’ve ever read a book involve cults so I hope I enjoy it!
Blackhearts by Nicole Castroman – I love pirates and I’ve seen this pop up a lot on the interwebs. It’s a retelling of Blackbeard, which I’m not really familiar with, so I’m curious to see what I make of it!
Listful Booking 
You picked up some great reads. I received the email from Book Outlet that announcing the sale… I avoided Book Outlet for the entire week and it was really difficult. For the past few months I went crazy on book buying, no I just need to read them. I also have more than a few series to get through. You can always start you book ban buying again, enjoy your new reads.

I avoided it all the way until the last day. lol I definitely plan on not buying any more for awhile, but we’ll see what happens!
