T5W | Top 5 Books as Event Themes

This week’s prompt is all about what books we think would make good themes for parties and such! There are some obvious ones (Harry Potter, A Game of Thrones, Hunger Games, etc.) that I tried really hard not to use in my list. I love theme parties and when I was younger, my birthday parties always had a theme. However, I am ashamed to admit none of them were themes based off of books though. Here are the five books I would use as themes for any future events!

The Selection series by Kiera Cass – I can see this being a fun event for a teenage girl. There are pretty dresses and parties and talent showcases and just so many ways to incorporate this book series as a party theme. Any excuse to wear pretty things is a good excuse!

Ready Player One by Ernest Cline – I can totally picture such a fun party with this theme. There would be all the nostalgia with the 80s, but also with the future stuff happening – so many options! It doesn’t just have to be all science-fictiony.

Matilda by Roald Dahl – I would love to throw a Matilda themed party as a baby shower or a little girl’s birthday. There’s books and magic and learning and I think it could be so adorable.

any road trip book – There are so many YA road trip books (Amy & Roger’s Epic Detour is my favorite!) and I think any one of them would totally work as a theme for an event. There could be areas for each of the stops and different foods and games and just a lot of variety that would make sense all together.

13 Little Blue Envelopes by Maureen Johnson – Similar to road trip books, but I feel this would have more of a scavenger hunt vibe to it. This would be so cute to do as a 13th birthday party!
